We decided to take a zero. After looking at the radar, and seeing the band of heavy rain coming our direction, it seemed like the logical thing to do. It wasn't supposed to start raining until late morning. That gave us time to go to the Dollar Store to resupply. We were able to do our laundry at the Compucraft Store. It is very close to the Braemar Castle Hostel where we are staying. Compucraft is a laundromat/computer store/ yard sale/game room/ hiker lounge/ restaurant. They have it all. While doing our laundry we ate a great burger with fries, and after eating used their computer. They were very friendly and welcoming to hikers.
Phys Ed walked in around 4 pm. We went out to eat with him and Airborne, another guy staying at the hostel.
Hampton, TN is a small but spread out town, one mile off trail. Early tomorrow morning we'll head back to the trail. Hopefully it will be smooth sailing to Damascus Va., some 48 miles from here.
