Day 52, miles today- 16.3, total- 714.1

We were on trail today at 9 am. There was Pumpkin Head, Wanderlust, Iceman, Dutch, and myself. It was a clear and sunny day. Perfect for McAfee Knob. It was near 60 degrees when we started hiking. It appears that the cold weather is behind us.

We crossed over several stiles today. They can be difficult to get over with a backpack on and when they're wet even more so. The streams are still very full from all the rain we had the last couple of days. We stopped at the Catawba Mountain Shelter for lunch. We reached McAfee Knob at about 2:00 pm. We all had several pictures taken. We stayed for one hour enjoying the view. It was beautiful! The weather could not have been better.

Our next stop was at Tinker Cliffs. Once there we had a 0.5 mile cliff walk. There was also a great view here as well. We sat here enjoying the view for about one hour. It had been a great day. Taking a zero two days ago worked out as planned. We had great weather today, giving us outstanding views.

We are staying at Lamberts Meadow Shelter. There are three section hikers and four other thru hikers, besides the five in our group. There's Mozyin, Human, Beacon, and Crazy Frog.

We passed the 700 mile mark today. Almost a third of the way! But, two thirds to go. Tomorrow we will pass through Daleville. We plan to resupply, stop at the outfitters, and eat lunch there. Afterwards, we plan to stay at the shelter five miles outside of town. Hopefully we will stay together as a group for a little while. Time will tell.

Everyone else has been asleep for at for a good while. I better join them.
